Ronald Frame (born 23 May 1953) is a prize-winning novelist, short story writer and dramatist. He was educated in Glasgow, and at Oxford University. Unwritten Secrets,〔(Review of Unwritten Secrets on The Independent website ), Wednesday 21 July 2010〕 a novel and his fifteenth book of fiction, was published in 2010. He has written many original plays and adaptations (most recently The Other Simenon)〔(Article on the BBC website for The Other Simenon ), Last broadcast Friday 17 December 2010 on Radio 4〕 for BBC Radio.〔(Ronald Frame's Profile on the BBC Scotland website )〕 His serial The Hydro (three series) was a popular success. A radio memoir of growing up in 50s and 60s Scottish suburbia, Ghost City,〔(An interview with Ronald Frame about Ghost City on the BBC Scotland website )〕 transferred to BBC Television. His first TV film Paris〔(Entry from the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) website for Paris )〕 won the Samuel Beckett Award and PYE’s ‘Most Promising Writer New to Television’ Award.
